How to plant my business cards ✿

If you find yourself no longer needing my business card, DON’T throw it away and turn it into flowers instead!

Being eco-friendly is one of our top priorities at Venusian Blooms so we have opted to print our business cards on seed paper with plantable wildflower seeds embedded in the card. Seed paper is a special type of paper that is made from recycled paper embedded with seeds. When planted, it fully biodegrades and seeds sprout, resulting in beautiful wildflowers or herbs.

Turn your trash into something beautiful by following the steps on how to plant the Venusian Blooms business cards!

Materials You’ll Need:

  • A Pot (with drainage holes)

  • Soil Blends or Seed Starting Mixes

  • A Watering Can or Cup

How to Plant the Business Cards:

Whether in pots or in the garden, baby plants are very fragile in their early stages of life. They need the perfect balance of water, sunlight, and fertile soil to grow strong. So follow these steps with care!

  1. Fill up your pot or tray with a soil blend or seed-starting mixture! Aim for soils with high organic matter such as coco coir, compost, or worm castings.

  2. Place the Venusian Blooms card under a thin layer (1/8 of an inch) of soil.

  3. On the initial planting, water the soil thoroughly with water. Pour water on the soil until it pours out the bottom of the pot, then stop.

    • The soil in smaller pots or trays tends to dry out more quickly than in larger pots. Water your large plants less frequently.

  4. Place your plant in a sunny area during the germination period and let it grow!

    • Your seedlings are the neediest in the first 3-5 weeks of their life so pay close attention to them!

  5. Check your seedlings daily!

    • Most seedlings require water every day or every other day. You can check the soil moisture using your finger by checking the soil color near the drainage hole. If the soil feels or appears dry or brittle, water thoroughly until water pours out of the bottom of the tray, then stop.

    • But, if the soil is only a little dry, give the seedlings a sprinkle of water to keep them moist until the next deep watering.

  6. Within a couple of weeks, you should see your baby seedlings start to sprout!

    • During this period, water your plant with a 1/2 cup of water every first of the month and spritz them daily or every other day in between the major watering period.

  7. As the months go by and your plants reach maturity you’ll have blooming wildflowers <3
